Become a Student
LVBC provides 2 hours per week of free, confidential and individualized tutoring for Basic Literacy or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). You and your tutor work together and create a schedule that is mutually convenient. You will meet at either the Berkshire Athenaeum (Pittsfield's public library) or another public place in the community. Students must be over age 16 and cannot be enrolled in school, and must be able to make a regular commitment to attend their tutoring sessions.

If you know you'd like to become a student, please email us to make an appointment for an Intake Interview - and please let us know in the email what the best time is for you to come in. We'll do our best to make that time happen.

Please note that our programs generally have a wait list.

The LVBC Board of Directors currently has 2 available board seats to be filled by individuals who have benefitted by ABL or ESOL educational programming in hopes of including their unique perspective to the LVBC board of directors. If you are interested in serving on our board please contact us by phone or email us at info@literacyberkshires.org.
