Our Programs
Tutors and their adult students determine a time and place that is mutually convenient. The more flexible you can be, the better chance we have of being able to find a tutor for you. We ask that you commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
We regard our students as individuals. Our learner-centered method of teaching enables ESOL students to move quickly from controlled to spontaneous language use that facilitates opportunities for real-life expression. The lessons, which focus on the student’s current life experiences, support an integrated approach to reading, writing, listening, and speaking English.
Adult Basic Literacy
Our volunteer are tutors are trained to help adults acquire the basic English language skills they need including reading, writing, math, English language proficiency, and problem-solving, to be productive workers, family members, and citizens. Helping adults gain literacy skills helps reduce poverty, improves public health, and advances human rights around the world.
